Feeling tired can be a problem for the majority of the population. Whatever your reason for changing lifestyle and busy schedule and working from home, it’s quite natural to feel tired and drained. Getting Enough Sleep

sleep is one of the most important functions of human beings throughout their life. You spend two-thirds of your life span just sleeping. This may seem vain to you. But it is not. Due to changing lifestyles, many people consider themselves night owls or night people. All this may be fine and seem cool, but pushing back on your bedtime can affect your body. An adult should get more than 7 hours of sleep. Unfortunately, more than 20-30% of the population is sleep-deprived. You must be wondering, I get 7 hours of sleep, but I still feel tired. Indeed there may be other factors affecting your sleep too, but along with this, there is something known as sleep debt which you may need to fulfill. Once you can avoid using phones or any screen one hour before bedtime, this will allow you to have a good quality sleep. If you feel tired often throughout the day, you may need good quality sleep. Try sleeping earlier.

Feeling stress can result in poor concentration, which can take a toll on your physical and mental health. You can simply not remove stress from your system, but you can try reducing it. You can do various activities like reading, playing outdoor games, dancing, or even just going for a walk will help you relax. One can even try meditation and yoga to get their mind at ease. It helps in reducing your risk of developing many chronic illnesses like diabetes, obesity and also helps you to keep your stress level low and gives your mind the peace it needs. Exercise helps reduce stress, and in one study, many people showed signs of a decrease in tiredness once engaged in various physical activities. This may include cycling, walking, running, dancing, anything more. This is one of the best ways which can help you in boosting your energy levels. 

Quit Smoking

Cigarettes are bad for your health, and they can cause many respiratory diseases like lung cancer or stroke. The toxins and tar present in the smoke created by the cigarette can be dangerous as they reduce the efficiency of your lungs and, over time, can cause your oxygen transport in the body to reduce, making you feel tired. Quitting cigarettes can be very helpful, and it can also make you feel less tired. 

Limiting Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can be used as a sedative and make you feel drowsy. This makes many people believe that consuming alcohol can make them sleep well. But that’s not true. Regular consumption of alcohol will interfere with your Circadian rhythm and also with the quality of sleep. Sometimes many people find it difficult to sleep after consuming alcohol; this can be due to the adenosine subsidies fast making you wide awake. Other effects alcohol has on one can be it stops your REM sleep or deep sleep and even makes breathing difficult for some. Hence one must drink responsibly and not overdrink themselves as it will affect them only. 

Eat Healthily

You are what you eat; hence your eating habits can be an important point you must consider. Your body needs the energy to keep going. Eating a lot of processed food that contains high levels of sugar has adverse effects on health. Skipping meals or breakfast or having an irregular eating pattern can also adversely affect your health and be why you may feel tired. Getting enough nutrition is also very important. A lack of essential nutrients in your regular diet can cause a lack of calories and a lack of essential nutrients. Having low levels of iron can also make you feel exhausted. 

Added Sugar 

Food containing high amounts of sugar can increase your blood sugar level. This causes your body to release high insulin levels to bring your blood sugar spike back to normal. This can cause a slump in your energy level. One can start avoiding sugar in their breakfast and include complex carbs. Eating food containing high levels of sugar can also lead to obesity, diabetes. Hence one should avoid eating food with high sugar levels and include more nutritious food in their diet. Drinking a good amount of water is also important. Dehydration has effects on your brain, mood, and energy level. Drinking enough water is also a way you can boost energy for yourself and avoid feeling tired.
